Aside from having what I believe is the most clever product name possible, the OilAddin is appropriate in absolutely every way, because it takes inspiration from the oil lamps used back in the olden days, and uses it as a snout/pourer for an oil bottle! (Side note, I just realized it’s a combination of the words Oil+Add+In and I’m honestly shook) — Made entirely out of silicone and with the signature yellow that one would instantly associate with the Disney animated classic, the Oiladdin allows you to easily pour oil onto your dishes in a small, controlled stream. It even prevents dripping, given its snout shaped opening. The soft construction allows it to securely fit into almost all glass bottles, while the upper part of the lamp can be pressed down to even shut the bottle, preventing oil from spilling everywhere if knocked over. The world’s first modular touch wall lighting, they say. We find this design pretty cool! @heliostouch was designed and created in Great Britain. Started as a product design project at the University of Brighton in 2015, Helios Touch went onto to be successfully crowd funded on Kickstarter in 2016. The hexagon modules can be attached to the wall by either using the sticky pads provided in the starter pack or using the holes on the back of each module to hook onto nails. You can turn the interior architecture of any space into the light source, swipe the wall and illuminate the path of your hand as it swipes across the surface. Match the mood by illuminating only the areas you touch. Part rug, part table, @alessandro_isola’s 'Stumble Upon Coffee Table' is a lesson in functional design.⁣ ⁣ Stumble Upon Coffee Table consists of a single sheet that provides two surfaces at differing levels. For comfort and function the material choice of these two surfaces creates a sharp contrast between the top part of the rug and the underlay. The top gives the sense it has been hand made with beautiful imperfections and the under laying material is a perfectly smooth surface. Usually the back of a rug is not attractive. If it is in fact the back! In this case the folding reveals a back that is probably even more stunning then the front, a polished reflective surface that is curved creates deformed reflections providing an unexpected effect. With a voluminous yet hollow frame, the Shell sofa is instantly visible. It is, in a strictly physical sense, minimalist (because it’s mainly hollow), but visually, the Shell sofa is almost pillowy, spacious, and a treat to look at. The sofa is a frame that curves from the left to the back and to the right, with space in between for cushions, or even two side tables if you remove the cushions at the extreme ends. It’s visually imposing, but still manages to look light and airy, thanks to its wickerwork of metal rods. The interwoven rods also create this moire effect that creates a dynamic optical illusion, making the Shell sofa’s body incredibly interesting to look at… and while we’re on the subject of interesting, the sofa comes with two small openings at the beginning and end of its structure, making it perhaps the most entertaining play area for a domestic cat. Determined to never have random loose wires corrupt the visual balance of his spaces, @andy.ferrier designed the Cable Cradle, a simple, innovative twist on the plug-point. Ferrier’s redesigned plug-point comes with an extended lip that gives you a channel to wrap your spare wires around. Almost like a thread and a spool, the wire can be looped as many times as needed to make your space look neat, and to prevent you from accidentally tripping over that pesky little wire that’s aimlessly strewn across the floor. Ferrier even built a nice ridge on the top of the Cable Cradle to allow you to rest your phone on it, so you can charge your phone and dock it too!
